Within the framework of the "Cooperation for local development" project of Georgian Rural Council, on March 28-31, the training "Improving monitoring and participation skills" was held for community groups in Lanchkhuti town. The training was attended by representatives of community groups of Etseri, Grigoleti and Oragve villages, representatives of the mayor in the administrative units where these villages are included, majority members of the Sakrebulo and information technology specialists of the mayor's office. The project director Amiran Gigineishvili conducted the training. The goal of the project is to promote the public monitoring process in the villages of Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri municipalities and to promote the development of villages with the participation of the public, which in turn will improve the responsibility of local governments, make their policies more focused on the population, and increase the degree of population involvement. The project is financed with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Georgia.
