The project ideas proposed by Chokhatauri residents

The Rural Councill of Georgia is implementing the project "Civil Monitoring for Improving Municipal Services in Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri."
One of the project’s objectives is, based on community needs and in accordance with participatory budgeting principles, to implement 2 activities in Lanchkhuti and 2 activities in Chokhatauri, each funded in the amount of 5,500 GEL.

The project is carried out with the support of the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The Rural Hall of Georgia bears full responsibility for the content of the research, which may not necessarily reflect the views of the European Union or the United Nations Development Programme.

Georgian Rural Council is implementing the project “Civil Monitoring for the Improvement of Municipal Services in Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri.” One of the project’s objectives is to finance and implement, based on community demand and in accordance with participatory budgeting principles, two activities in each municipality (Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri), each with a budget of 5,500 GEL.

The project is carried out with the support of the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The Georgian Rural Hall bears sole responsibility for the content of the research, which may not necessarily reflect the views of the European Union or the United Nations Development Programme.

Monitoring Results of the Municipal N(N)LEs of Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri

pngfind.com report icon png 6611341The Rural Hall of Georgia is implementing the project “Civil Monitoring for the Improvement of Municipal Services in Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri.”

One of the project’s objectives is to conduct monitoring of the activities of municipal N(N)LEs. As part of this objective, selected N(N)LEs were monitored. The monitoring results were submitted to the leadership of the municipalities and the respective N(N)LEs.

Trainings on Sociological Research

IMG 2751Within the framework of the Civil Monitoring Project implemented by the Georgian Rural Council — "Civil Monitoring for Improving Municipal Services in Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri" — training sessions were held on July 30–31 in Lanchkhuti and on August 1–2 in Chokhatauri for the interviewers selected under the project.

The goal of the trainings was to equip participants with knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Defining the objectives of sociological research
  • Developing research tools
  • Determining sampling methods
  • Data collection
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Assessing the level of public satisfaction

Participants developed public satisfaction survey questionnaires and conducted several practical interviews with randomly selected beneficiaries.

The trainings were led by the project manager, Mr. Amiran Gigineishvili.
The project is supported by the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

monlanTrainings Held Within the Framework of the Project “Civil Monitoring for the Improvement of Municipal Services in Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri”

On June 4-5 in Lanchkhuti and June 6-7 in Chokhatauri, training sessions were conducted for mobile groups selected as part of the project “Civil Monitoring for the Improvement of Municipal Services in Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri”, implemented by the Georgian Rural Hall.

The aim of the trainings was to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • The concept and importance of civil monitoring;

  • Methods of obtaining information for monitoring purposes;

  • Types of monitoring (legal and economic activity monitoring);

  • Preparation and writing of monitoring reports;

  • Proper communication and coverage of monitoring results in the media.monch

The training program was based on the publications “Civil Monitoring with Citizen Participation” and the “Local Self-Government Monitoring Manual”, issued by the Eurasia Partnership Foundation.

The sessions were led by the project manager, Amiran Gigineishvili.

The project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Working discussion meeting in Chokhatauri

gn1The Georgian Rural Council has launched the project “Civil Monitoring for the Improvement of Municipal Services in Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri”. The aim of the project is to enhance the quality of municipal services in Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri by promoting greater transparency within municipal Non-Entrepreneurial (Non-Commercial) Legal Entities (N(N)LEs). This will be achieved through joint civil monitoring conducted by local non-governmental organizations and the media, as well as by strengthening community initiatives to address local challenges.

The objectives of the project are:

 

  • To select three N(N)LEs in each municipality, for a total of six, to be monitored.

  • To conduct monitoring by civil society organizations.

  • To develop conclusions and recommendations for the further development of the N(N)LEs.

  • To select and implement citizens’ ideas with a budget of up to 11,000 GEL in Lanchkhuti and 11,000 GEL in Chokhatauri.

As part of the project, a working discussion meeting was held in Chokhatauri with the participation of local civil society organizations. During the meeting, participants were introduced to the project’s goals and objectives. Using a brainstorming method, the following Non-Entrepreneurial (Non-Commercial) Legal Entities of Chokhatauri Municipality were selected for civil monitoring:

  • Center for Non-Formal Education and Protection of Cultural Heritage of Chokhatauri Municipality

  • Association of Art Schools of Chokhatauri Municipality

  • Chokhatauri Municipality Service Group

The project is supported by the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
