The Georgian Rural Council purchased cheese samples and ensured laboratory testing. We bought 5 types of cheese at various shops and markets in Lanchkhuti and submitted it to the State Laboratory of Agriculture in the city of Kutaisi. 2 samples of factory-made cheese produced in Georgia and 3 samples made in local farms were purchased.
The National Food Agency controls the fulfillment of the requirements of the regulation "On milk and milk products". However, it manages to check
only a few dozen samples of cheese per year, which is a small number for monitoring the whole country's trade network. Cheese is an essential part of the food. That is why it is very important to check its cleanliness. So, depending on the urgency of the issue, we purchased and checked the cheese.
